Pacific Northwest processor opens new facility

A new Total Reclaim e-scrap plant in eastern Washington will dismantle and aggregate a variety of equipment types before shipping material to Seattle for further processing, according to the company.

The Pacific Northwest e-scrap processor recently opened a 6,560-square-foot plant near Spokane, Wash. Shayla Mayer, Total Reclaim’s sales and marketing coordinator, said the plant will initially have five to 10 employees, depending on volumes.

Headquartered in Kent, Wash.,Total Reclaim and its sister company EcoLights recycle electronics, appliances, fluorescent lamps and other materials. With the Sept. 7 opening in Spokane Valley, the company now has five locations in the following cities: Anchorage, Alaska; Kent; Portland, Ore.; Seattle; and Spokane Valley, Wash.

The Spokane Valley site will handle a variety of equipment types, Mayer said, and some equipment will be hand-dismantled or pre-processed for refrigerant recovery on site. Once about 40,000 pounds is accumulated, the material will be shipped to Seattle for further processing.

The company has a history of servicing customers in the Spokane area remotely via our facilities in Seattle, so adding a dedicated operation in Spokane will decrease our logistics costs and increase our service offerings to the area,” Bobby Farris, CEO of Total Reclaim, stated in a press release.
