The Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) published an analysis that finds that over a quarter of countries’ climate plans are neglecting waste reduction, despite the fact that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) identified waste management as one of three sectors with the greatest potential to reduce temperature rise in the next 10-20 years.

Indorama Ventures published its 10th annual sustainability report and video, noting the company’s PET recycling capacity grew from 3,576 tons a year in 2011 to over 330,00 tons annually during the second quarter of this year.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group Lab committed a $4 million investment, to be managed by Closed Loop Partners, to tackle marine plastics generation in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Neste and Ravago formed a joint venture to use a chemical recycling facility in the Netherlands.
