Waste disposal company MAX Environmental, which has cleaned up several CRT glass stockpiles in recent years, has acquired a waste management company in the South.
Pittsburgh-headquartered MAX acquired LEI, Inc., which provides recycling and waste disposal services, according to a press release. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
MAX Environmental Technologies operates a hazardous waste disposal facility in Pennsylvania. The company oversaw the cleanup of CRT glass abandoned by 5R Processors in Tennessee and CRT glass accumulated by Nulife Glass in three East Coast states.
Based in Independence, La., LEI handles universal and hazardous wastes at two facilities in the Gulf Coast region. Its recycling facility is permitted to handle large quantities of lamp waste.
MAX has been owned by investment firm Altus Capital Partners II since 2017. LEI is the first add-on acquisition for the company.
