in Industry Announcements

Industry organization American Beverage is marking six years of the Every Bottle Back initiative, with over $2 million in investments in 2025 and the delivery of 1 million recycling carts.

The American Institute for Packaging and the Environment (Ameripen) and other industry associations released a report that estimates industry-led source reduction efforts decreased US packaging volumes by about 5 million metric tons between 2019 and 2024.

Inteplast Group acquired Laubach Companies, a trucking and warehousing business based in Arkansas, expanding Inteplast’s logistics arm.

MKV Polymers, a subsidiary of Germany-based industrial plastics recycler and compounder MKV, is opening a North American arm in Akron, Ohio.

Reusables.com received a US patent for its reusable asset tracking system that enables food service operators to offer multi-use containers without requiring consumer deposits or infrastructure overhauls.

WM announced it now accepts PP and paper to-go cups in curbside recycling, and released its 2025 recycling report, indicating a significant gap between consumers’ recycling intentions and actual behaviors, and suggesting that brands can influence purchasing decisions by prioritizing recyclability.
