Equipment Spotlight: Low-noise grinder tackles PET bottles

The PC400 plastic crusher from Widesky Machinery provides size reduction for scrap plastics with a focus on beverage containers.

“This machine can crush waste plastics into small flake,” company representative Mandy Zheng told Plastics Recycling Update.

The PC400 is ideal for processing PET bottles, according to the company. Other models are suited for different plastics. For instance, larger models include longer alloy blades, giving them the ability to grind high-density plastics such as polystyrene, polypropylene, nylon, engineering plastic and more.

According to Widesky, the PC400 model includes sound deadening features to lower its noise output. The PC400 weighs roughly 500 kilograms. It generates 10 horsepower and has a throughput of 350 to 500 kilograms per hour.

The machine retails for $1,500.

In addition to its line of plastic crushers, Widesky, which is located in Guangdong, China, manufactures equipment for plastic mixing, blending, drying, molding, heating, cooling and a variety of other applications.
