Reverse vending machines are introduced in South Africa’s largest city to promote recycling.

South Africa: A pilot program using reverse vending machines is underway in Johannesburg. The machines accept plastic bottles and tin cans and turn them into points for users. Users can redeem those points for things like bus or train tickets, reports IOL.

U.K.: A new study reveals the best and worst industries in terms of recycling participation across the U.K. According to Business Waste, farmers are the best at recycling and office workers are the worst.

India: The Indian government has tweaked regulations to allow imporation of plastic waste by companies that are located in special economic zones, according to The Economic Times.
