News from Alabama Department of Environmental Management, Erema and more

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management awarded more than $2.5 million in grants from the state recycling fund to 18 solid waste authorities, counties, cities and other groups to boost recycling efforts.

Amcor appointed Graphic Packaging‘s Stephen Scherger as CFO. 

The City of Fort Collins, Colorado, is partnering with Compost Queen on a pilot program for organics.

UK traceability platform eco2Veritas Certification spun off from chemical recycling tech firm Greenback Recycling Technologies. 

Recycling and waste processing tech firm eFACTOR3 is partnering with sorting technology provider Steinert, with a new showroom and test facility in South Carolina.

Recycling equipment manufacturer Erema is backing Australia’s BlockTexx to scale up its investment in the textile recycling space.

Tech firm Greenback Recycling Technologies deployed its first chemical recycling module at Amcor‘s site in Heanor, UK, for a six-month commissioning and trial period. 

The Pennsylvania Resources Council appointed Sarah Alessio Shea as executive director, as previous director Darren Spielman transitions out of the role by year-end.

Containerboard producer Pratt Industries will build a new $92.5 million manufacturing facility in York County, Pennsylvania.

The Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) will hold the virtual Future of Fiber Forum Jan. 27 for the paper packaging and fiber recovery industries.

The Sourgum waste management and recycling platform expanded its services into Indianapolis.
