FROM RESOURCE RECYCLING:

Industry association Can Manufacturers Institute named Pearce Crosland as senior director of government relations and regulatory affairs.

Coastal Waste & Recycling has promoted Travis Hitchcock to chief operating officer.

Nespresso donated 100,000 pounds of finished compost as part of its Grounds to Grow LA project.

Waste management technology firm Routeware announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Austin, Texas. 

FROM PLASTICS RECYCLING UPDATE:

French recycling technology company Carbios secured long-term RPET supply agreements with two major beverage companies, bringing offtake commitments to 50% of the capacity for its planned facility. 

Coca-Cola bottler Arca Continental and RPET producer PetStar expanded capacity for food-grade RPET at their Toluca plant in Mexico, from 50,000 metric tons/year to 86,000 mt/year. 

Producer responsibility organization Circular Materials launched the EPR program for Nova Scotia on Dec. 1. 

Europe’s RecyClass approved new polyurethane and acrylic inks for printing that are compatible with recycling processes for PE and PP flexible packaging. 

Trio and the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment expanded their Transform: Auto program to serve European markets with a supplier decarbonization program.

FROM E-SCRAP NEWS:

Canada’s Call2Recycle is expanding its vape recycling program in Quebec to include cannabis devices.

Mining giant Glencore is cutting 1,000 jobs amid a restructure aimed at focusing on copper production. 

Techbros Electronic Recycle and ITAD is partnering with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns to promote circular technology education in Arizona.

Japanese high-performance materials producer Teijin developed virgin-quality polycarbonate resin using solvent-based recycling technology, for automotive and electronics applications.
