News from American Chemistry Council (ACC), Beyond Plastics and more

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) announced that Ross Eisenberg, vice president of federal affairs for ACC, will now lead the organization’s Plastics Division, a position that was formerly held by Joshua Baca, who left ACC suddenly in June.

Advanced Drainage Systems joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative, a platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.

Arkansas Poly & Printing has contributed more than 1 million pounds of film to Trex for use in composite decking since the partnership began in June 2022. 

Beyond Plastics hired Jess Conard as its first Appalachia director and Nyah Estevez as a New York City-based community organizer. 

Italy-based Dentis Recycling is using two Starlinger recoSTAR PET bottle-to-bottle recycling lines to offer food-grade RPET pellets in addition to hot-washed PET bottle flakes.

Graham Packaging certified multiple sites under GreenBlue’s Recycled Material Standard (RMS), which uses mass balance to account for materials use. 

iSustain and Dollywood Parks and Resorts partnered to increase recycling at the park. 

The Ocean Cleanup recovered 55 tons of ocean plastic, some of which will be used in future Kia cars under a multi-year partnership. 

Medical custom sheet extruder Pacur is using Eastman’s Eastar Renew 6763 to produce sterile barrier packaging.
