Used computers for refurbishment or recycling.

A facility in Massachusetts marked U.S. location number four for global ITAD company Wisetek.

The 42,000-square-foot facility in Northborough, Mass. will provide many IT-related services, such as remote employee services, repair and mobile HDD shredding, with a focus on asset disposition, according to a press release. It has been operational for several months.

The facility will also store stock from Wisetek Market, the company’s e-commerce refurbished equipment business.

“It is a key priority for Wisetek to expand its presence in the USA, in order to facilitate its growth in the American market,” the press release said. “The company has achieved a milestone of 200 employees in the USA in FY22 and has plans for growth to 300. On a global scale, the company currently employs over 450 people worldwide.”

Established in 2007, Wisetek has U.S. facilities in Austin, Texas; Winchester, Va.; and Sacramento, Calif. Internationally, it has facilities in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Thailand.

Sustainability is another focus at the new facility. The company has a Zero Landfill Policy across all its sites, and “strives to reduce the level of waste going to landfill” by refurbishing and recycling.

Sean Sheehan, CEO of Wisetek, said in a statement that the Massachusetts facility “demonstrates Wisetek’s continued investment to address the growing global demand for our services.”

“Wisetek is committed to providing the most comprehensive range of services to the U.S. market and this facility enables us to better support our partners in sustainable resource consumption through the critical reuse, refurbish and remarketing of IT components,” Sheehan added.
