RGX nets Colorado grant for digital ITAD marketplace

A Colorado business looking to make ITAD services more accessible and more efficient for both customer and provider was awarded a state grant to support its efforts.

Recycle Global Exchange (RGX) received a $250,000 Early-Stage Capital and Retention grant, which is meant to support businesses “commercializing innovative and disruptive technologies.”

The company developed a cloud-based marketplace that allows customers to submit project requests, then prompts e-scrap recyclers in the customers’ geographic area to submit competitive bids.

Sean Miles, CEO of RGX, previously told E-Scrap News that his mission is to decrease the transportation costs of processing electronics in both an economic and environmental sense, bolster smaller, local recyclers, increase diversity in the industry and improve recycling rates.

The grants come from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade’s Advanced Industries Accelerator Program. This round, 37 Colorado companies and six researchers were awarded grants, totalling just under $10 million.

RGX also recently partnered with commercial truck rental platform Fluid Truck to reduce transportation emissions by pairing local e-scrap vendors on RGX’s platform with Fluid Truck’s electric vehicles.
